Viarelli Matador – a sporty Class 1 moped in white

The Viarelli Matador is a Class 1 scooter with a top speed of 45 km/h, built for riders who want performance and practicality without giving up on looks. Reinforced suspension, LED lighting, powerful brakes, alloy wheels and a fuel-injected engine make up the core of the package.

Engine

The Matador uses a proven 4-stroke GY-6 type engine with EFI (electronic fuel injection), updated to meet current Euro requirements for lower fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact. It produces 2.4 kW at 7,500 rpm and 3.0 Nm of torque from as low as 5,000 rpm. The engine runs on regular petrol and delivers its power across a broad rev range, which helps when riding in busy city traffic.

Fuel consumption

Consumption is around 0.25 litres per 10 km. With a 4.5-litre tank, that gives a range of close to 180 km per fill-up under normal conditions.

Transmission

A CVT automatic gearbox means there is no manual shifting. Combined with the engine's torque, it gives smooth, easy handling, particularly in stop-and-go city riding.

Wheels and brakes

The Matador rides on 12" three-spoke lightweight aluminium wheels with sporty low-profile tyres for good grip. Braking is handled by hydraulic disc brakes, with a dual-piston caliper and an oversized, ventilated wave disc at the front.

Suspension and frame

Unlike many simpler scooters, the Matador has twin rear shock absorbers, which add comfort and make the whole bike more stable and torsionally rigid. At the front, a double-sided hydraulic damping setup provides good ride comfort. The frame is made of torsionally stiff steel for stability at higher speeds and under load, and the moped weighs 90 kg.

Comfort and storage

The Matador has room for a passenger, who gets proper support from the neatly folding footpegs. The sectioned seat offers a sporty yet comfortable riding position, and its Cordura-like cover is water-repellent and made to withstand sun and rain. Under the seat there is a storage compartment for the essentials, opened and locked with the same key used to start the moped. A top box is available as an accessory if you need more space.
